• Provide clinical microbiology and infection prevention & control services to acute and community healthcare settings.
• Participate in a regional antimicrobial stewardship programme.
• Lead relevant initiatives.
• Supervise laboratory operations, ensuring quality and timely reporting.
• Participate in clinical audit, research, and teaching of medical trainees and other healthcare professionals.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and quality assurance programmes.

Skills and requirements

• Specialist registration (or eligibility for registration) on the Specialist Division of the Register of Medical Practitioners maintained by the Medical Council of Ireland in the sp.
• Proven experience in clinical microbiology, infection control, and antimicrobial stewardship.
• Strong leadership, teamwork, and communication skills.
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement and patient safety.

Confirmed role details

• Public only Consultant Contract 2023 (Temporary, Full-Time, 37 hours per week).
• Remuneration: €233,527 – €280,513 per annum (DOE).
