Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist focuses on we provide level 2 neonatal care.

What the role involves

  • We provide level 2 neonatal care.
  • We provide 60 hours Onsite consultant present at both acute sites.
  • Support, other clinical, medical, professional and managerial colleagues in providing high quality healthcare to the Trust’spatients.
  • ·To ensure the provision of a first class clinicalservice.
  • ·To provide effective leadership to junior doctors and medicalstudents.
  • The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community Partnership arrangements in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients every year and managing a budget.

Skills and requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Experience in management of pre-term birth prevention.
  • Ensure patient-tailored plans are made.

Confirmed role details

  • ·Provide Labour and emergency cover daytime as well as out of hours at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital.
  • Pick up sessions at the Scunthorpe or Goole District General Hospital or Hull Royal Infirmary.
  • ·Provide a general gynaecology and obstetrics services comprising outpatient clinics, ambulatory andtheatre.

Candidate fit

  • Gynaecology assessment unit (24/7) with in patient facility for Gynaecology, is provided at SDEC (Same day emergency care) and IAAU (integrated acute assessment unit).

Additional role context

  • In 2023/24 there were 2,121 deliveries in the maternity unit.
  • There is consultant anaesthetist cover during working hours and a 24-hour epidural service is in operation.
  • DPOW obstetrics and gynaecology training have been rated one of the highest in England at the national training survey in the last 2 years.
