What the role involves
- The main duties of the consultant are to provide psychiatry consultant leadership and to act as Approved Clinician to the Community Mental Health Team N3, and to support the Team L.
- Close liaison with primary care will be a key part of the role.
- Be expected to provide consultant input for Community Mental Health Team Neighbourhood 3 in which you will have a sector, based upon GP practice, for whom you will be the senior cl.
- Work alongside one other consultant psychiatrist who also work for the Neighbourhood, so there is scope for support and cross cover.
- The post holder will be expected to provide clinical cover for other Lewisham borough consultants and vice versa.
- To provide enthusiastic, and flexible, joint clinical leadership and consultant input into the team, alongside the Clinical Service Lead.
Skills and requirements
- Fully registered with the GMC with a licence to practise at the time of appointment.
- Approved clinician status and under S12 OR able to achieve within 3 months of appointment.
- Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or management.
- Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others.
