Consultant Psychiatrist

Consultant Psychiatrist focuses on time: 1 hr for assessment & up to 1 hr for report writing.

What the role involves

• Time: 1 hr for assessment & up to 1 hr for report writing.
• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments for medico-legal purposes.
• Review medical records and relevant documentation to inform clinical opinion.
• Produce high-quality medico-legal reports that are clear, structured and defensible.
• Provide expert opinion on diagnosis, prognosis, capacity and treatment recommendations.
• Work in line with medico-legal standards, clinical governance and regulatory requirements.

Skills and requirements

• GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist with a valid licence to practice.
• Previous or current experience within medico-legal assessments (desirable but not essential).
• Strong report-writing skills with the ability to produce clear, evidence-based documentation.
• Experience assessing adults across a range of mental health conditions.

• Pay: £400 per assessment (up to £450 for Onsite or specific assessment types).
