A highly regarded Top 100 national law firm is seeking a Court of Protection (Welfare) Solicitor to join its leading Public Law and Human Rights team, based in Brighton. The Role

  • Manage a personal caseload of Court of Protection (welfare) matters, including litigated cases.
  • Support senior colleagues on high-value or complex instructions.
  • Represent clients in welfare disputes regarding residence, care, contact, and health-related decisions.
  • Build relationships with advocacy groups, charities, and key stakeholders to generate referrals and provide an outstanding client experience.
  • Review cases with supervisors to ensure consistently high-quality legal advice.
  • Requirements

  • NQ-3 years' PQE, with proven experience in Court of Protection (welfare) work.
  • A strong interest in public law and human rights; education law experience is desirable.
  • Able to manage own caseload independently, with strong organisational and litigation skills.
  • Empathetic and resilient, with a genuine commitment to supporting vulnerable clients.
  • A collaborative team player who is proactive, supportive, and client-focused.
