What the role involves

  • Deliver engaging and well-structured Design & Technology lessons aligned with national curriculum and GCSE specifications.
  • Develop students’ practical skills, technical knowledge and understanding of the design process.
  • Preparing pupils for GCSE coursework and examinations, ensuring strong progress and attainment.
  • Maintaining a safe and well-organised workshop/classroom environment in line with health and safety regulations.
  • Report on student progress effectively.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement.

Skills and requirements

  • Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.

Candidate fit

  • Quality Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (with potential for KS5 where applicable).

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
