What the role involves

• Delivering high-quality, engaging drama lessons that inspire and challenge students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
• Develop innovative schemes of work that balanced practical performance skills with the study of dramatic texts and practitioners.
• Reporting on student progress and attainment in line with exam board specifications, providing constructive feedback to support development.
• Supporting and contribute to the school's extra-curricular performing arts program, including school productions, clubs, and theatre visits.
• Maintaining high expectations for student behavior and achievement, cultivating a safe, inclusive, and collaborative studio environment.

Skills and requirements

• Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in drama, theatre studies, or a closely related discipline.
• Experience: A proven track record of teaching drama within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
• Exceptional subject knowledge, confident classroom management, and the ability to inspire students of all abilities and backgrounds.
• A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
