What the role involves

  • Deliver, and assess engaging EAL lessons tailored to students’ language needs.
  • Supporting students in developing their English speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills.
  • Adapt teaching strategies and materials to meet the needs of learners at varying language levels.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to support EAL students across different subjects.
  • Provide constructive feedback to promote development.
  • Monitoring student progress.

Skills and requirements

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification.
  • Experience teaching EAL students in a school setting.
  • Strong understanding of language acquisition and effective EAL strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
