What the role involves

  • This is a supportive role that involves working as part of the school team to provide a safe, High quality early years environment for young children.
  • To ensure that activities are carried out in a safe and responsible manner in accordance with statutory responsibilities, and to advise the room leader of any concerns over childre.
  • To contribute to the school’s highest standards of physical and emotional care, health and safety, and personal and food hygiene at all time.
  • Working creatively with children within the EY framework, as instructed by the room leader.
  • To be involved in positive interactions with children by supporting or providing stimulating activities that respond to their interests and developmental needs.
  • Ensuring all children have equal access to opportunities to learn.

Skills and requirements

  • Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.

Candidate fit

  • Relevant experience working with children, ideally in a school or educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and professional conduct expectations in schools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
