Job description

Early Years Quality Advisor – Full time

Salary: £40,000-£46,000 per year

Location: Across London

Shaping exceptional early years practice – one educator at a time

At London Early Years Foundation (LEYF), our purpose is simple and powerful: changing the world one child at a time.

We do this by delivering high‑quality, research‑informed early years education across our nurseries, and by supporting and developing the educators who make that possible every day. Central to this is a strong, shared pedagogy that is lived and breathed across our organisation.

That’s where our Early Years Quality Advisor comes in. This is a pivotal role supporting the high‑quality delivery of the LEYF Pedagogy across our nurseries. You’ll work closely with nursery‑based teams and central colleagues to embed consistent, reflective and ambitious practice, aligned with LEYF’s values, philosophy and social enterprise approach.

You’ll be a trusted coach, role model and critical friend – working on the floor alongside teams, designing and delivering meaningful professional learning, and translating research and policy into confident, high‑quality practice.

If you’re passionate about pedagogy, love developing others, and are motivated by making a real impact on children’s experiences through educator growth, this could be a great fit.

What you’ll be doing

Embedding high‑quality pedagogy across nurseries

  • Support the continuous learning and development of nursery staff at all levels
  • Embed consistent practice by sharing, explaining and evaluating LEYF policies, procedures and pedagogical approaches
  • Translate research, theory and organisational priorities into practical, meaningful improvements in practice
  • Champion LEYF’s ambitions, values and social purpose in everyday pedagogical delivery

Coaching, modelling and developing practice

  • Provide tailored coaching to educators at all stages of their careers
  • Work on the floor alongside nursery teams to demonstrate and role‑model best practice
  • Support reflective practice through observation, feedback and professional dialogue
  • Build confidence and capability within teams to sustain high‑quality pedagogy

Designing and delivering professional learning

  • Design and deliver engaging workshops, training sessions and learning resources
  • Adapt learning approaches to meet the needs of different nurseries and teams
  • Evaluate the impact of training and coaching to ensure continuous improvement
  • Contribute to the development of organisational learning programmes

Working collaboratively across LEYF

  • Cultivate strong professional relationships with nursery teams and central office colleagues
  • Act as a pedagogical partner to Nursery Managers and leadership teams
  • Share learning, insights and best practice across the organisation
  • Support a culture of collaboration, curiosity and continuous improvement

Staying current and research‑informed

  • Stay up to date with current pedagogical research and sector developments
  • Incorporate evidence‑based best practice into coaching and training
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the LEYF Pedagogy

We’re looking for someone who…

Has the right experience and qualifications

  • Degree in Early Years (or working towards a degree)
  • Strong background in early years education and practice for 0-5 year children
  • Experience mentoring, coaching or supporting the development of educators
  • Confident applying pedagogical theory and research in practice
  • Loves being on the floor in nurseries 4-5 days a week

Brings the behaviours that make this role shine

  • Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills
  • Skilled at building rapport and trust with staff at all career stages
  • Organised, reflective and able to manage multiple priorities
  • Motivational, supportive and confident challenging practice constructively
  • Curious, research‑informed and committed to continuous learning
  • Aligned with LEYF’s values, philosophy and social mission

Why you’ll love working at LEYF

  • Be part of an organisation making a genuine difference to children and families
  • Influence and shape pedagogical practice across a network of nurseries
  • Work in a values‑led, research‑informed and people‑centred culture
  • Hybrid working with time spent in nurseries and with central teams
  • 70% childcare discount for your children or grandchildren
  • 26 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off
  • 7% employer pension contribution
