My client is a part of a group that offers a range of services, including ecological consultancy. They were established over 40 years ago and have provided services to their clients nationally ever since. They work on a range of large scale infrastructure projects as well as conservation and others.


Your new role

My client is looking for ecologists to work on a contract basis, outside IR35 regulations if required.

Works may include:

  • Conduct water vole field surveys
  • Carry out habitat assessments along watercourses, ditches, ponds, and wetland edges.
  • Assist with water vole displacement or mitigation works under supervision.
  • Record field data accurately, including GPS mapping and habitat notes.
  • Monitor water vole activity.
  • Support exclusion fencing installation and checks.
  • Liaise with site teams to ensurepliance with ecological constraints.
  • Follow health and safety protocols when working near water and on construction sites.
  • Assist senior ecologists with project delivery and any required site visits.

  • What you'll need to succeed

  • Ecology Experience
  • Water Vole Survey Experience (No licence required)
  • CSCS Card
  • Own PPE / Specialist equipment is desirable.
  • Full driving licence and vehicle
  • Protected species licences are desirable.
  • FISC qualification is also desirable.
