The role
As an EC&I Technician, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll play a vital role in keeping nuclear power stations safe, available and compliant. You work with specialised equipment and safety systems, apply rigorous test standards, and help ensure reliable low‑carbon energy for millions of homes, all while building your expertise in one of the UK’s most regulated and meaningful engineering environments.
Day‑to‑day you’ll be required to:
Set working times are 37 hours per week: Monday to Wednesday 07:30–18:00, Thursday 07:30–15:00. During outages, you work 12‑hour shifts with paid overtime (time‑and‑a‑half) and a premium (time‑and‑a‑third) for night hours. This is a roving role, supporting EDF sites at Heysham, Hartlepool and Torness, along with the Whetstone Manufacturing site. Regular UK travel with overnight stays is required; all travel and accommodation expenses will be covered..
