What the role involves

• Review electrical building services designs, calculations, and technical specifications.
• Develop designs for power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, security systems, emergency lighting, and associated electrical services.
• Coordinating designs with mechanical, architectural, structural, and specialist subcontractor teams.
• Supporting project teams throughout design development, procurement, construction, commissioning, and handover stages.
• Ensure designs comply with current regulations, standards, client requirements, and sustainability objectives.
• Supporting the delivery of BIM and digital engineering initiatives.

Skills and requirements

• Degree, HND, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering.
• Experience in electrical design within a contractor, consultancy, or design-and-build environment.
• Strong knowledge of UK building regulations, British Standards, and electrical design principles.
• Experience working on large-scale construction projects.
