What the role involves

  • Designing new machinery (stator, rotor, and full machine assemblies), as well as upgrades and retrofits.
  • Conducting root cause analysis for failed machinery and preparing repair instructions.
  • Leading engineering activities and supporting client interactions throughout project phases.
  • Performing diagnostic and life-assessment work, including on-site condition analysis.
  • Providing service, maintenance, and technical support where required.
  • Assisting tendering and project management teams, helping secure.

Skills and requirements

  • Knowledge of medium and large high-voltage rotating electrical machines.
  • Experience using electromagnetic design tools (MotorCAD, COMSOL, or similar).
  • A background in engineering design environments.
  • Degree-level qualification or HND/HNC with relevant experience.

Candidate fit

  • Strong MS Office, CAD, and engineering software skills.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and sound technical judgement.
