Job description
As a Teaching Assistant, the work centres on helping the class teacher prep, plan and deliver fun, focused lessons. It would suit someone who can bring jumping in with creativity, curiosity and a calm head when things get lively (as they often do in Year 1!) to the role.

What the role carries
Helping the class teacher prep, plan and deliver fun, focused lessons. Providing one-to-one or small group support, especially during literacy time. Supporting young children through safe routines, learning activities, and lesson-by-lesson care.

Jumping in with creativity, curiosity and a calm head when things get lively (as they often do in Year 1!). Someone who’s proactive, positive, and ready to roll up their sleeves.
What the role depends on
- Any experience working with children (in schools, clubs, mentoring etc.) is a big plus.
- Do you have an English degree and a soft spot for phonics, picture books, and the magic of early learning?
- You don’t need to be qualified, just committed, kind, and keen to learn.
