Job description
The Teaching Assistant position centres on at Prospero, we work with local authorities to arrange 1:1 tuition for students accessing alternative provision. It would suit someone who can bring supporting learners through a calm, structured classroom routine to the role.
Who the work supports
References covering 2 years (a full 24 months) of employment, as well as references for any work that you’ve had with children or vulnerable adults within the last two years. An enhanced DBS registered on the update service (recommended but not required, as you can apply for a DBS through us).

What needs to be in place
- We’d also expect candidates to have some prior experience within education; at least 4 months working in a school or educational setting.
- To get started as a tutor,you’ll need to register with Prospero Teaching!
- With our tuition roles, you do not need to be a qualified teacher.
Job details
- 12 hours per week – 3H every morning except Wednesdays.
- English and Maths tuition for a Year 10 student working below ARE.
- Our tuitions take place within school hours,9am-4pm, and our clients are very flexible on timings.
- At all of the above locations, there will always be an appropriate adult present for your tuition sessions.
