As a Environmental Discipline Lead, the work centres on ensure that the schedule for reporting is adhered to whilst ensuring environmental deliverables demonstrate compliance with applicable legislation, industry best practice and HS2 t. It would suit someone who can bring strong professional approach to the role.
Where the work sits
Responsible for ensuring that designs and technical deliverables are provided on time and in collaboration with the wider team, including engineering disciplines. Management of environmental impacts of design changes as the project matures.
How the role works day to day
Ensure that the schedule for reporting is adhered to whilst ensuring environmental deliverables demonstrate compliance with applicable legislation, industry best practice and HS2 t. Leading by example and promote good practice relating to environmental management & sustainability, sharing best practice and learning. Work with planners and the engineering teams to ensure that environmental deliverable timescales are built into the delivery and handover schedules and risk is understood.

- Responsible for the programme’s EMR compliance and variation of environmental consents associated with the permanent design.
What needs to be in place
- Leading the team in effectively managing relevant commercial and contractual communications (TQs, EWs, EIs, CEs etc.) associated with area of responsibility with suppliers and client.
- Degree-level qualification in engineering/ environment or another relevant field.
- Experience in a technical/design environmental field.
