Environmental Health Officer focuses on delivery of statutory health and safety in the workplace function.
What the role involves
- Delivery of statutory health and safety in the workplace function.
- To carry out the Commercial Health Team’s work to protect and enhance public health and the environment as required by statute and the policies of Central Government and the Counci.
- Maintain a particular expertise in the areas of Food Safety and Health and Safety.
- To provide advice and guidance to other members of the Commercial Health Team and wider council, on matters relating to Food Safety and Health and Safety.
- To provide advice and guidance to commercial premises about meeting their statutory obligations and developing best practise.
- Carry out inspections/ surveys etc particularly in relation to.
Skills and requirements
- Higher Certificate in Food Control (or equivalent).
- Lead Auditor, Imported Food etc.
- Attendance at recognised and relevant courses such as HACCP, Approved Premises.
- Relevant experience of Food Safety, Health and Safety and Public Health Enforcement.

- £31,769.00 - £42,895.00 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.
