EYFS / SEN / ARP Teaching Assistant focuses on delivering one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to children’s learning needs.
What the role involves
- Delivering one-to-one and small group interventions tailored to children’s learning needs.
- Assisting in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring children with SEND are fully included.
- Supervise pupils during playtime, lunchtime, and classroom transitions, maintaining safety and engagement.
- Collaborate with the SENCo, therapists, and teachers to implement specialist strategies for children with autism, ADHD, or other additional needs.
- Supporting children in developing independence, confidence, and self-regulation skills.
- Maintaining accurate records of pupil progress, behaviour, and achievements.
Skills and requirements
- Hold an enhanced DBS check and adhere to school policies regarding child protection, health, and safety.

Candidate fit
- Hold a relevant qualification such as Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, NCFE Support Work in Schools, CACHE, or equivalent.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with children, staff, and families.
- Be familiar with safeguarding policies and child protection procedures.
Additional role context
- We cater to children aged 3–11 years, including pupils with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges.
- The school is looking for a dynamic, patient, and adaptable Teaching Assistant to provide high-quality support across EYFS and SEN/ARP settings.
- Implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans.
