EYFS TEACHING ASSISTANT

Teaching Assistant focuses on supporting children aged 3–5 years within nursery and reception classes.

What the role involves

• Supporting children aged 3–5 years within nursery and reception classes.
• Supporting children with phonics, early reading, mark making, and number recognition.
• Helping children develop communication, social, and emotional skills.
• Providing one-to-one and small group support, including for children with additional needs.
• Observing children’s progress and feeding back to teaching staff.
• Supporting children with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.

Skills and requirements

• Experience working with children (EYFS experience preferred).
• A strong awareness of safeguarding and child protection.
• The ability to build positive relationships with children and staff.
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
