Teaching Assistant focuses on supporting the eyfs teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities.

What the role involves

  • Supporting the EYFS teacher in delivering daily lessons and activities.
  • Provide 1:1 or small-group support to children as required.
  • Assisting in planning and preparing engaging, play-based learning experiences.
  • Record children’s development to inform planning and assessment.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and confidence.
  • Supporting daily routines including snack times, outdoor play, and personal care.

Skills and requirements

  • Relevant teaching, classroom, childcare, QTS, SEN, safeguarding, or early-years experience may be required.

Candidate fit

  • Assist with lesson preparation, and help create a structured, positive, and engaging classroom environment where children feel confident and motivated to learn.
  • Have experience working with young children, ideally in an EYFS or nursery setting.
  • Have a good understanding of early childhood development.
