EYFS Teaching Assistant (EYFS TA)

Teaching Assistant focuses on supporting the class teacher in delivering eyfs lessons and activities.

What the role involves

• Supporting the class teacher in delivering EYFS lessons and activities.
• Work with individual children and small groups to support learning.
• Assisting with phonics, early numeracy, literacy, and creative play.
• Promote positive behaviour, self-confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
• Supporting children with personal care when required (toileting, meals, dressing).
• Record children’s development in line with EYFS expectations.

Skills and requirements

• Experience working in an EYFS, nursery, or early years setting.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
• Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification.
• Paediatric First Aid or Safeguarding training.

Confirmed role details

• Full-time / Part-time / Term-time only.
• £85–£105 per day (dependent on experience).

Additional role context

• The EYFS TA will work with children aged 3–5 years, helping them to develop academically, socially, and emotionally in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
