We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and reliable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a friendly and inclusive primary school in Greenwich, starting ASAP. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about early years education and supporting young children during a crucial stage of their development.

The school offers a nurturing and well-resourced early years setting where children are encouraged to explore, learn, and grow in a safe and stimulating environment. Staff work closely as a team and are supported by experienced leaders who value early years practice and professional development.

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will support the class teacher in delivering engaging, play-based learning activities and provide individual or small-group support to pupils. You will play an important role in helping children develop confidence, independence, and positive learning behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the EYFS teacher with daily classroom activities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to children as required

  • Assist with play-based learning and structured activities

  • Support children’s personal, social, and emotional development

  • Help maintain a safe, clean, and stimulating learning environment

  • Observe and record children’s progress under teacher guidance

  • Support routines such as snack time, toileting, and outdoor play

  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence

  • Communicate effectively with staff and parents when appropriate

  • Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience working with young children, ideally in EYFS

  • Be caring, patient, and enthusiastic

  • Have a good understanding of early years development

  • Be proactive and able to work as part of a team

  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Be reliable and flexible in approach

  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting child welfare

The school is based in Greenwich, with good transport links and a welcoming local community. You will be joining a supportive team in a positive and well-structured early years setting.
