About the Role

The Family Liaison Officer (FLO) plays a central role in strengthening engagement, wellbeing and safeguarding for pupils and families at Heath Farm College. The role also includes key responsibilities within admissions and safeguarding, including acting as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead.

  • Build strong, trusting relationships with vulnerable families, providing tailored support and acting as a consistent point of contact for the college.
  • Work closely with external agencies and services to coordinate effective multi-agency support and safeguard pupil welfare.
  • Lead on parental engagement and transition support, including home visits and ongoing communication before, during and after admissions.
  • Play a core role in the admissions process, supporting assessments, coordinating visits and ensuring the secure transfer and management of student records.
  • Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead, supporting safeguarding processes, referrals, compliance with KCSIE and a culture of vigilance across the college.
  • Serve as Child Missing from Education (CME) Lead, monitoring attendance, identifying risk and developing action plans to re-engage pupils.
  • Provide direct support to pupils with SEMH needs, contributing to EHCPs, wellbeing plans and positive behaviour and reward systems.
  • Work collaboratively with senior leaders and staff to promote attendance, wellbeing, inclusion and a safe, supportive learning environment.
