Family Support Worker
Job description
As a Support Worker, the work centres on we are working with all Teams across Children’s Care and Support to improve the outcomes for children and young people on the edge of care. It would suit someone who can bring supporting young people or families through calm, crisis-response work in the community to the role.

How the role works day to day
We are working with all Teams across Children’s Care and Support to improve the outcomes for children and young people on the edge of care. We are looking to appoint a creative and innovative Family Support Worker, into our Specialist Family Support & Volunteer Team. Be experienced in providing high challenge and high support, at times when children and families need our support the most.

Practical details
- The children and families you support will experience from you well thought out direct work, planned and targeted parenting support, and will benefit from your partnership working.
- Shift pattern: Weekends.
- Additional detail: Flexible working options may be available.
What needs to be in place
- This is a fixed term post for 12 months (or 12-month secondment for internal only).
- Knowledge and understanding of young people and their families and the challenges they can face, and experience of safeguarding in a statutory setting is essential.
- Have an understanding and experience of contextual safeguarding and will keep the child at the centre of your practise.
