Finalist or Newly Qualified Accountant

- A strong emphasis on technical quality and professional standards
- Study support towards ACA or ACCA if required
- Genuine responsibility, client contact and the chance to develop your career
- A mix of office-based work, home working and occasional client visits
This is a role for someone who enjoys the technical side of practice and wants to continue developing in a position that offers breadth, challenge and progression.
Key responsibilities
- Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients
- Assisting with and participating in audit assignments
- Producing management accounts for owner-managed businesses
- Drafting corporation tax computations for limited companies, with support where needed

- Keeping managers and directors updated on assignment progress and deadlines
- Supporting junior team members, particularly with bookkeeping and VAT-related tasks
- Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and to a high technical standard
- 3 to 5 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
- Strong accounts preparation experience
- Good technical ability and a solid understanding of core accounting principles
- Some audit exposure gained within practice
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
- Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines with minimal supervision
- Near-qualified or recently qualified ACA or ACCA
- Experience using CCH Accounts Preparation
- Exposure to cloud accounting software
- Experience drafting basic corporation tax computations
- Technically capable and keen to continue developing your expertise
- Organised, reliable and confident managing your own workload
- Comfortable building strong relationships with clients
- Proactive, practical and deadline-focused
- Looking for a role that will broaden your exposure and support your progression in practice
