The role Working as part of an established team, you will support the delivery of high-quality accounts and compliance work for a broad range of small and medium-sized clients. You will be trusted to manage your workload effectively, communicate directly with clients, and contribute to assignments with a high level of accuracy and professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Preparing year-end accounts for a range of clients
• Assisting with and participating in audit assignments
• Producing management accounts for owner-managed businesses
• Drafting corporation tax computations for limited companies, with support where needed
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information
• Keeping managers and directors updated on assignment progress and deadlines
• Supporting junior team members, particularly with bookkeeping and VAT-related tasks
• Ensuring work is completed accurately, efficiently and to a high technical standard

Essential

• 3 to 5 years’ experience within a UK accountancy practice
• Strong accounts preparation experience
• Good technical ability and a solid understanding of core accounting principles
• Some audit exposure gained within practice
• Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
• Strong communication skills and a professional, client-focused approach
• Ability to manage priorities and work to deadlines with minimal supervision

Desirable

• Near-qualified or recently qualified ACA or ACCA
• Experience using CCH Accounts Preparation
• Exposure to cloud accounting software
• Experience drafting basic corporation tax computations
