Your new role
As Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day output of the finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role within a transactional SME environment, where accuracy, structure and people management are key.Your responsibilities will include:
Leading and developing a small finance team, setting objectives and supporting continuous improvementOverseeing accounts payable and receivable, including supplier reconciliations, debt management and cash flow controlProducing monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments and control accountsManaging daily bank reconciliations across multiple accountsClient accounting and interpany reconciliationsCIS submissions andplianceOverseeing weekly and monthly payroll processesSupporting performance management activities, including probation reviews and return‑to‑work meetingsThis role sits firmly in the operational core of the business and requires a Finance Manager who isfortable being close to the detail while maintaining strong oversight of the team.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)At least 5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance management roleProven experience managing or supervising a finance teamStrong working knowledge of XeroAdvanced Excel skills and a high level of attention to detailConfidence working in a fast‑moving, SME environmentStrong problem-solving and organisational skillsExperience within property, real estate, construction, or client‑accounting environments would be advantageous, though not essential.
