Your new role

As Finance Manager, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day output of the finance function. This is a hands-on leadership role within a transactional SME environment, where accuracy, structure and people management are key.Your responsibilities will include:
  • Leading and developing a small finance team, setting objectives and supporting continuous improvement
  • Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, including supplier reconciliations, debt management and cash flow control
  • Producing monthly management accounts, including balance sheet reconciliations, prepayments and control accounts
  • Managing daily bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
  • Client accounting and interpany reconciliations
  • CIS submissions andpliance
  • Overseeing weekly and monthly payroll processes
  • Supporting performance management activities, including probation reviews and return‑to‑work meetings
  • This role sits firmly in the operational core of the business and requires a Finance Manager who isfortable being close to the detail while maintaining strong oversight of the team.

    What you'll need to succeed

    To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
  • AAT Level 4 qualification (or equivalent experience)
  • At least 5 years’ experience in an accounting or finance management role
  • Proven experience managing or supervising a finance team
  • Strong working knowledge of Xero
  • Advanced Excel skills and a high level of attention to detail
  • Confidence working in a fast‑moving, SME environment
  • Strong problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Experience within property, real estate, construction, or client‑accounting environments would be advantageous, though not essential.
