The Financial Controls Advisor position centres on developing and maintaining high‑quality financial control documentation, including process maps, narratives and Risk and Control Matrices. It would suit someone who can bring strong professional approach to the role.

Role overview

Acting as a key liaison point for internal audit, external audit and governance reviews, including Provision 29 and future SOX‑style testing. Comfortable operating in complex, decentralised environments and influencing senior stakeholders across finance and operations.

Main responsibilities

Developing and maintaining high‑quality financial control documentation, including process maps, narratives and Risk and Control Matrices. Producing financial controls dashboards and leading structured monthly review meetings with finance stakeholders. Driving continuous improvement through simplification, standardisation and increased automation of controls and reporting.

Requirements

• Practical experience working with SOX, ICFR and or UK Corporate Governance Code Provision 29 requirements.
• Hands‑on experience with Provision 29 compliance and future SOX readiness.
• A qualified finance, audit, risk or controls professional with strong experience in financial controls and ICFR.

Job details

• Hybrid working model with 2 days Onsite and 3 days remote.
• Annual salary of £65,000 - £70,000 per annum.
• Supporting the design, embedding and ongoing oversight of a robust financial control framework across core end‑to‑end processes including Order to Cash, Procure to Pay, Record to R.
• Work model: On-site.
