Fire Engineer

As a Fire Engineer, the work centres on providing assurance on both fissile and non-fissile project designs, identifying risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement. It would suit someone who can bring careful technical judgement and practical problem-solving to the role.

Role overview

This role would require regular travel to Derbyshire. Technical Oversight and Advisory.

Engineering work involved

Undertake independent review of fire engineering designs to ensure alignment with project requirements and applicable standards. Provide assurance on both fissile and non-fissile project designs, identifying risks, gaps and opportunities for improvement. Review fire strategies, calculations, and supporting documentation as part of the design assurance process.

Technical skills and requirements

• Produce clear, concise technical reports outlining findings, recommendations and required actions.
• Level 5 Diploma (or equivalent) in a fire-engineering.
• Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. Institute of Fire Engineers).
