What the role involves

  • Conduct pre-shift vehicle checks to ensure the forklift is in safe working condition before each shift.
  • Transport packaging materials to and from manufacturing cells efficiently and safely.
  • Move finished stock and store it securely in designated areas using appropriate material handling equipment.
  • Reporting any faults or damage to the forklift to the Team Leader or Shift Manager immediately.
  • Adhere to all plant procedures and safety protocols during daily operations.
  • Supporting manufacturing processes by ensuring timely and accurate movement of materials.

Skills and requirements

  • Full Counterbalance Forklift Licence (valid and recognised in the UK).
  • Minimum of 1 year experience operating counterbalance forklifts.
  • Experience working with stillages and other material handling equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations in the workplace.
