The role
As a Food Technology Teacher, you will:
Teach Food Technology across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 opportunities available for suitable candidates)
Deliver practical, engaging lessons in line with food hygiene and health & safety requirements
Support pupils to develop cooking skills, nutritional knowledge, and food safety awareness
Differentiate effectively to support pupils of mixed abilities, including those with SEND
Maintain a safe, calm, and purposeful classroom and practical environment
Assess progress and provide clear, constructive feedback
Work collaboratively within the DT faculty and wider staff team
We’re looking for someone who:
Holds QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)
Has experience teaching Food Technology in UK secondary schools
Has a strong understanding of food hygiene, nutrition, and health & safety
Is confident managing practical lessons and maintaining high standards
Is committed to inclusive practice and safeguarding
Is reliable, adaptable, and professional
Is happy to work PAYE, with clear and transparent pay
This role is suitable for ECTs, experienced teachers, and those returning to the profession.
Pay & contract
£163–£ per day, depending on experience
Weekly PAYE pay – no umbrella companies, no hidden deductions
Long-term and day-to-day supply opportunities available, with potential for continuity
