What the role involves

• We are seeking a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist to provide specialist assessment, treatment, and risk management for individuals with complex mental health and forensic needs in.
• Quality, person-centred psychiatric care, working as part of a multidisciplinary team to support individuals with forensic histories, mental illness, and complex behavioural presen.
• Conduct forensic psychiatric assessments, risk formulation, and management planning.
• Provide expert clinical input on complex cases, including dual diagnosis and behavioural needs.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across mental health and disability services.
• Supporting clinical governance, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.

Skills and requirements

• Specialist registration with the Irish Medical Council (or eligibility).
• Proven experience in forensic psychiatry.
• Experience working with complex mental health and/or intellectual disability populations.
• Excellent communication, decision-making, and teamwork abilities.
