Front Office Risk Analyst
Job description
As a Front Office Risk Analyst in Finance, Economics, the work centres on liaise with other support functions to escalate and resolve market, operational and other risk issues as appropriate. It would suit someone who can bring preference for MSc Finance, CQF, PRM, FRM or ERP holders to the role.
Where the work sits
Ability to function in a dynamic small team and provide cover for other team members. To become a key member of the Front Office Risk team by contributing rigorous risk analysis for presentation to the executive team, facilitated by forging strong relationships with.
How the role works day to day
When required produce weekly deep dives for management on specific trading positions to identify and analyse risk/reward. Liaise with other support functions to escalate and resolve market, operational and other risk issues as appropriate. Interact daily with Trading desks and Fundamental analysis teams to facilitate independent analysis and challenge trading strategies.

Preference for MSc Finance, CQF, PRM, FRM or ERP holders.
Practical details
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
What needs to be in place
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills including a good knowledge of statistics.
- Knowledge of common commodity trading instruments including physical forwards, swaps, options, and other derivatives.
- 2 – 5 years’ experience of working in a risk management, valuations or trading role within an investment bank or energy trading firm.
