Generator Controls System Engineer focuses on oversee the construction of electrical control panels for generator and power distribution applications.
What the role involves
- Oversee the construction of electrical control panels for generator and power distribution applications.
- Load sharing, and remote monitoring.
- System Surveys : Conduct detailed site surveys and inspections of existing mechanical and electrical generator equipment to assist in project design and proposals.
- Commissioning & Testing : Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT) and carry out on-site commissioning in liaison with electrical contractors.
- Repair complex mechanical, electrical, and control system faults.
- Fault Diagnostics : Read and interpret LV and HV electrical schematics to identify.
Skills and requirements
- Experience : Minimum 3–5 years of experience in generator control systems or a similar electrical engineering role.
- Technical Proficiency : Expert-level knowledge of ComAp controllers and software suites (e.g., ComAp PC Suite).
- Electrical Design : Strong understanding of LV and HV schematics, switchgear control, and protection systems.
- Standards : Working knowledge of electrical safety standards, including BS 7671 and IEC standards.
