What the role involves

  • Supervising ground investigations, including drilling, sampling and in-situ testing.
  • Manage site activities while ensuring high standards of quality control and full compliance with H&S requirements.
  • Preparing geotechnical and chemical testing schedules.
  • Liaise effectively with contractors, project managers, internal teams and clients throughout project lifecycles.

Skills and requirements

  • Degree in geology, earth science, environmental science or similar background.
  • Competent in logging soils and rocks in accordance with BS5930.
  • A good understanding of health and safety management for ground investigation works (e.g. CDM).
  • Experience preparing desk studies, coal mining risk assessments and factual elements of ground investigation reports.
