Glass Operative
Glass Operative focuses on glass cutting – transfer cad data and optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and accurately cut components from glass sheets.
What the role involves
- Glass Cutting – Transfer CAD data and optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and accurately cut components from glass sheets.
- Glass Grinding – Load CAD data, programme.
- Operate glass edge grinding machinery to achieve the required finish and specification.
- Operate specialist in-house bending and toughening processes, including flat glass furnaces, press-bent toughening plants, and sagged-bending furnaces.
- Glass Printing – Operate printing equipment to apply detailed designs and markings to glass prior to the toughening process.
- Manufacture glass products to a consistently high quality standard.
Skills and requirements
- Previous manufacturing, production, engineering, or glass processing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Willingness to learn specialist machinery and production processes.
- Ability to follow instructions and work to detailed specifications.
- Physically capable of handling glass products safely.
Confirmed role details
- Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm.
- Temporary to Permanent.
