Glass Operative focuses on glass cutting – transfer cad data and optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and accurately cut components from glass sheets.

What the role involves

  • Glass Cutting – Transfer CAD data and optimise nesting layouts to maximise material utilisation and accurately cut components from glass sheets.
  • Glass Grinding – Load CAD data, programme.
  • Operate glass edge grinding machinery to achieve the required finish and specification.
  • Operate specialist in-house bending and toughening processes, including flat glass furnaces, press-bent toughening plants, and sagged-bending furnaces.
  • Glass Printing – Operate printing equipment to apply detailed designs and markings to glass prior to the toughening process.
  • Manufacture glass products to a consistently high quality standard.

Skills and requirements

  • Previous manufacturing, production, engineering, or glass processing experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Willingness to learn specialist machinery and production processes.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work to detailed specifications.
  • Physically capable of handling glass products safely.

Confirmed role details

  • Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm.
  • Temporary to Permanent.
  • We are currently recruiting for a Glass Production Operative on behalf of our client based in the NR29 area.
  • Receive full training across various areas of the production process, with the opportunity to secure a permanent position.
