Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant
Job description
This Teaching Assistant role is focused on providing 1:1 and small‑group support, adapting activities to meet sensory, cognitive, and communication needs. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.
Where the work sits
The school supports children aged 5–11 who may have been diagnosed with Autism, Learning Difficulties, and/or Complex Neurological Conditions. Work closely with teaching staff to support pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning, develop independence, and achieve their full potential.
How the role works day to day
Providing 1:1 and small‑group support, adapting activities to meet sensory, cognitive, and communication needs. Supporting pupils during regulated and dysregulated behaviours, using de‑escalation and positive behaviour strategies. Helping to set up engaging learning resources and maintaining a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

- Experience working with PMLD, CLDD, Autism and Sensory processing disorder.
