Job description
The Teaching Assistant position centres on providing in-class academic support, 1:1 intervention and mentoring outside the classroom, as well as some behaviour support. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.
Role overview
This role would be ideal for someone considering teacher training for September 2026. Be responsible for supporting young learners in a variety of secondary subjects, including Maths, English, Science, Humanities and PE.
Main responsibilities
Provide in-class academic support, 1:1 intervention and mentoring outside the classroom, as well as some behaviour support. supporting learners and helping maintain a positive learning environment. Able to support learners with patience and structure.
Requirements
- TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:.
- Experience working with young people in either a voluntary or professional capacity desirable.
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
