How the role is set up

Since our beginnings in 2021, Sales. Lead generation, data, research, and outbound systems.

Engineering work involved

Captain has grown into a global force, working with fast-growing B2B brands, YC & Techstars startups, and Series B/C companies, helping them go to market using a predictable proces. Architect end-to-end outbound systems: from ICP definition and TAM scoping all the way to campaign launch, CRM sync, and performance reporting. Build advanced Clay workflows: enrichment waterfalls, AI columns, Claygent researchers, conditional logic, custom API integrations.

What helps in this technical role

You think in systems, not tasks. When you see a manual process, your first instinct is to automate it. You're technical without being a developer. Comfortable with APIs, webhooks, and JSON, and you can write a basic Python or JS snippet when no-code isn't enough.

Technical skills and requirements

  • You have 2+ years of experience building outbound or revenue systems: ideally at a B2B agency, GTM consultancy, or fast-moving SaaS company.
