We have the rare but exciting opportunity to join ourHeroics Cafe team as a Junior Sous Chef  based at Bicester Heritage, Oxfordshire.

Heroics Cafe takes pride in crafting freshly prepared dishesusing only the finest ingredients, including authentic Italian breads andpastries sourced from Farina London. 

The menu boasts a wide selection of healthy options servedin generous portions to keep customers fuelled throughout the day. Beyond ourdelectable daily offerings, Heroics Café extends its services to include eventcatering for business meetings and social gatherings.

We offer a variety of grab and go concepts, includingsandwiches and paninis, hot and cold beverages with snacks, hot classicseasonal dishes as standard and then have a street food calendar throughout theyear. 

TheResponsibilities for Junior Sous Chef

  • Catering to the needs of business lunches, prepared in the Heroics café and delivered to on site offices. 
  • Day to day running and responsibility formenus
  • Designing, costing and creatingspecifications for menus
  • Independent working
  • The role will involve working between 2sites: Headquarters (2 minutes away) and on site at Bicester Heritage.
  • Working the Breakfast and lunch service –sandwiches, salads and hot dishes made to order
  • Tomanage the kitchen production ensuring quality and consistency every time, inline with the company guidelines
  • Toendeavor to deliver high standards in all areas, including presentation,taste, food safety and quality of produce
  • Tomanage and exercise company Food Safety and Health and Safety policies
  • Totake a “hands-on” approach in managing, assisting with, monitoring andoverseeing all production, stock and operational kitchen related concerns
  • Tocontrol and minimise all kitchen associated costs without detriment to thebusiness or service
  • Towork with the Heroics Café Management team in developing and driving forward thebusiness
  • Toassist other company departments if and where required

    • The Role Specifications

  • Food Hygiene Level 3
  • Confident on food safety and HACCAPrequirements
  • Strong client and customer interaction
  • Great communication skills
  • Must have a full, clean driving license

    • The Role

  • 45hrs per week
  • Generally, the role is Monday – Friday (7am –4.30pm)
  • Some Weekend work will be required dependent onbusiness needs (overtime paid for hours over the contracted 45 hours)

    Absolute Taste are the exclusive caterers for heroics caféand cater for those employed in the business at Bicester Heritage site, theirclients and guests. Our catering provisions include, but not limited to events,meeting social gatherings and corporate entertainment.
