Head of Retrofit

This Head of Retrofit role in Bristol on Wednesday is focused on overseeing key aspects of retrofit delivery in the HES portfolio, including resource utilisation and workload planning, project monitoring and evaluation. It would suit someone who can bring strong leadership and operational judgement to the role.

Where the work sits

Interviews will take place in person at our offices in Bristol on Wednesday 17 September 2025, though subject to change. Experience of developing new projects and services that offer energy efficiency measures and low carbon technologies to householders or businesses.

How the role works day to day

Overseeing key aspects of retrofit delivery in the HES portfolio, including resource utilisation and workload planning, project monitoring and evaluation. To provide input to the organisation's business plan with respect to retrofit opportunities and services for the year ahead, forecasting staffing needs and helping to establish the. Ensure retrofit staff in the HES team remain utilised by other departments and are sufficiently supported to deliver their work and reach their potential.

Practical details

• Is full-time (37.5 hours per week); we are flexible and will consider part-time requests of 30 hours.

What needs to be in place

• Extensive experience of delivering retrofit project services or programmes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of writing effective technical or non-technical summaries of complex issues.
• Knowledge of the policy framework and funding landscape for retrofit programmes.
