Health and Safety Manager

This Health and Safety Manager opportunity is built around be responsible for providing guidance, support, and training on health and safety matters across all areas and levels of the organisation. How the role is set up

The role requires regular travel, including overnight stays several times per week, and a full UK driving licence is essential. The role includes conducting approximately 70 site audits annually, primarily within retail stores, but also across distribution centres and office locations.

Where someone would start

Be responsible for providing guidance, support, and training on health and safety matters across all areas and levels of the organisation. Act as the main point of contact for external bodies such as Environmental Health Officers, Fire Authorities, and other regulatory agencies. Also involves investigating incidents and accidents, as well as contributing to the development and review of risk assessments and safe working practices.

What is expected

• Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
• Strong understanding of current health and safety legislation.

Job details

• We are working with a nationwide UK retailer specialising in clothing and textiles, across 1,000 stores, who are keen to recruit a Health and Safety Manager.
• The Health & Safety Manager will report directly to the Group Company Secretary, and will be predominantly field based, supporting multiple retail brands across the business.
• £31,000 - £36,000 depending on experience.
• Scotland and the North of England.
