Healthcare Assistant focuses on the post holder will support the training and development of healthcare support workers (hcsws) across clinical areas.

What the role involves

  • The post holder will support the training and development of Healthcare Support Workers (HCSWs) across clinical areas.
  • Delivering induction, the Care Certificate, foundation training, and clinical skills workshops.
  • Involves supporting learners to develop the skills, knowledge, and behaviours required for their role, both in the classroom and in clinical practice.
  • Requires experience as a Nursing Associate or Assistant Practitioner, or as a Senior Healthcare Assistant with a relevant Level 5 qualification in health, education, or training.
  • Also be expected to maintain up-to-date clinical practice to ensure all teaching reflects current evidence-based practice.

Skills and requirements

  • Experience supporting learners, students, or new staff in practice.
  • Experience of contributing to learner assessments.
  • Maths and English GCSE or equivalent qualification.
  • Mentoring/Coaching qualification.
