HGV Class 2 Driver

The HGV Class 2 Driver position with Optime Group centres on following scheduled routes and working to time-sensitive delivery windows. It would suit someone who can bring be driving between sites, supporting general logistics and transportation across a well-organised network to the role.

How the role is set up

April 2026 - Immediate paid training following driving assessment. Optime Group is looking for experienced Class 2 HGV Drivers to support a major logistics operation based in Avonmouth.

Where someone would start

Following scheduled routes and working to time-sensitive delivery windows. Transporting goods safely between sites, including large retail partners such as B&M, TK Maxx, Boots and Superdrug. Completing pre- and post-vehicle checks and promptly reporting any defects.

What helps someone build confidence

Be driving between sites, supporting general logistics and transportation across a well-organised network. Dependable and self-motivated on the road.

What is expected

• Minimum 6 months’ Class 1 experience preferred.
• Ability to provide 5 years of checkable history (required for Blue Airside Pass clearance).
• Valid Class 2 (Category C+E) licence.

Job details

• Night rate bonus: Additional £10 per shift for start times between 00:00 – 04:00.
• Overtime: (after 45 hours per week): £22.00 per hour.
• Monday To Friday 10/11pm Start.
