HGV Driver / Highway Maintenance Operative
Job description
This HGV Driver opportunity is built around preparing written returns including fault report details. It would suit someone who can bring careful technical judgement and practical problem-solving to the role.
Why this role may suit you
The South East Trunk Road Unit spans 506km through some of the busiest sections of the country, from central Scotland to through the Scottish Borders. Full-time / Permanent, 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday, OT & On Call Rota.
What you would be doing
Preparing written returns including fault report details. Winter maintenance duties which include fitting gritter body and blade, driving gritter and spread salt by hand if required. Winter maintenance rota during the winter months driving our state-of-the-art snow ploughs, when conditions dictate.
What you need
- Previous experience as a roadworker is desirable, however training can be provided.
- Knowledge of the requirement for Health and Safety rules and procedures.
- There is a requirement to undertake training and to achieve competence in aspects of the job.
