Job description

This Teaching Assistant role is focused on supporting learners with patience and structure. It would suit someone who can bring warm, steady communication with children and families to the role.

Who the work supports

Monitor, assess and record pupils’ progress, providing detailed feedback and evidence. Plan, prepare and deliver learning activities to individuals, groups and whole classes.

How support shows up

Able to support learners with patience and structure.

What needs to be in place

  • English and Maths qualifications at Level 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience as a Teaching Assistant or Cover Supervisor delivering whole‑class activities.
  • Experience working with children across key stages.

Job details

  • NJC Grade E: £30,518 - £33,699 FTE (This will be paid pro-rata to reflect hours and weeks worked).
  • This is a permanent position working 28 hours per week, 39 weeks per year (Monday to Thursday 8.30-16.25).
  • Newport Community School Primary Academy are seeking a dedicated and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team.
  • Additional detail: Training or development support may be provided.
