Higher Level Teaching Assistant focuses on we are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic higher level teaching assistant (hlta) to support pupils across key stage 1 and key stage 2 within a primary school setting.

What the role involves

  • We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 within a primary school setting.
  • Supporting teaching and learning across KS1 and KS2 classrooms.
  • Delivering learning activities and interventions to individuals, small groups, and whole classes where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to support pupil progress and attainment.
  • Provide targeted support for pupils with varying learning needs, including those requiring additional support.
  • Assisting in the preparation of classroom resources and learning materials.

Skills and requirements

  • Previous experience working with primary-aged children.
  • A good understanding of the primary curriculum across KS1 and KS2.
  • HLTA status or relevant experience working at HLTA level is desirable.
  • Experience supporting children with additional learning needs is desirable.

Confirmed role details

  • Key Stages: KS1 & KS2.
  • Start Date: September 2026.
  • 2 days per week (preferably Thursdays and Fridays, although flexibility may be considered).
