What the role involves

  • Providing targeted literacy, numeracy, and intervention support to pupils who need additional help.
  • Acting as a subject or specialist support assistant, offering expertise in designated curriculum areas.
  • Supervising and guiding other support staff to ensure consistent, high‑quality classroom practice.
  • Preparing and maintaining learning environments, resources, and materials to support effective teaching.
  • A solid understanding of teaching and learning strategies, with the ability to support.
  • Deliver, and adapt activities to meet diverse pupil needs.

Skills and requirements

  • SCQF Level 6 or equivalent required.
  • Driving licence required.
