Job description

Write a short description of your company, a boilerplate of the business, service or product that you offer. Include your business idea and the target audience. This text is primarily supposed to be descriptive, not selling.

We are delighted to be collaborating with a well-regarded 11-18 academy in Warwickshire, seeking to appoint a passionate and experienced History Teacher. This is a full-time, permanent role beginning January, covering Key Stages 3–5 (GCSE & A-Level History).

About the Role
You will plan and deliver rigorous and inspiring History lessons across a broad age range, contributing to a department that values deep enquiry, critical thinking, and connecting the past to current issues. There is scope to lead field trips, develop local history projects, and support cross-curricular links with subjects like Politics, Geography, and English. Teachers will benefit from high-quality department resources, interactive displays, digital archives, and regular opportunities to innovate in pedagogy and assessment.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for someone who:

  • Holds QTS, PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification
  • Has strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for History
  • Can teach GCSE and/or A-Level
  • Is creative, organised, reflective, and driven to help students make strong progress
  • Has the legal right to work in the UK

The School
This academy is situated in the heart of rural Warwickshire, serving around 1,650 students aged 11 to 18 (with approximately 314 in its Sixth Form). It has been rated Outstanding in its last Ofsted inspection, reflecting strengths in curriculum, teaching, personal development, and leadership.

The campus blends spacious grounds with modern learning zones and has recently invested in new facilities, including a brand new Sports Hall and ongoing expansion of academic spaces. Within the Humanities faculty, the History classrooms are well resourced, with access to digitised archives, visual timeline displays, and local context materials. Students consistently achieve strong outcomes in History, and the school encourages staff to lead and design enrichment programmes, societies, and historical experiences linked to community heritage.

Teachers benefit from a collaborative, forward-looking culture, formal CPD, professional learning time, on-site parking, and a leadership team that encourages teacher creativity and ownership.

Salary & Benefits
This post is paid on the standard MPS / UPS scale, with potential enhancements based on experience and responsibilities. Benefits include access to school facilities, development opportunities, and a vibrant academic community.
