What the role involves

• Leading the production of quarterly budget reports and treasury management updates.
• Managing the 2025/26 year-end audit process.
• Leading development of the 2026/27 budgeting cycle.
• Supporting the transition from Xero to Oracle financial systems.
• Provide expert financial advice, planning, and performance reporting.

Skills and requirements

• Fully qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent).
• Significant post-qualification finance experience.
• Proven experience in senior finance leadership roles.
• Strong technical accounting and audit knowledge.

Confirmed role details

• We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in North Yorkshire to assist with the appointment of an Interim Head of Finance, on a 6-month contract, highly likely to be exten.
• £36.02 - £45.75 per hour.
• Will lead on financial management, reporting, budgeting, audit delivery, and financial systems transformation, while ensuring compliance with all regulatory and governance requirem.
